Pregnancy History and Cardiovascular Function in Postmenopausal Women

The Integrative Physiology of Aging Laboratory at the University of Colorado Boulder is investigating how a woman’s pregnancy history may influence blood vessel and brain function after menopause.

What you get out of participating:

Health Information: We will share and briefly explain health information we collect during the study. This includes results from your physical exam, including blood panels,  vascular function assessments and blood pressure measurements, all of which you can share with your physician.

Compensation: We will provide monetary compensation for completing the two study visits ($80).

Where is the trial taking place?

All study visits will take place at the University of Colorado Boulder campus.

Our laboratory is located at 1805 Colorado Ave, Boulder, CO 80309. You can find our laboratory by clicking here. We will provide you instructions for free parking on campus nearby our offices.

Frequently Asked Questions

A: Completing the study will require ~5-6 hours of your time. The study includes 2 visits that will be completed over a ~3-week period. This includes one screening visit to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria, followed by one study visit to assess blood vessel and brain/cognitive function.

A: We are flexible and can accommodate most vacation schedules, so long as you aren’t gone for over four weeks between Visit 1 and Visit 2. Please communicate any upcoming vacations to us early on.

A: Before each visit, we will ask you to avoid food and caffeine for 5 hours, and alcohol, strenuous exercise, marijuana and tobacco for 24 hours. Before the second visit, we will also ask you to avoid non-prescribed over-the-counter medications and supplements for 48 hours. Our study team will provide detailed instructions and answer any questions before your visits.
