Eric Hedge

Eric is a doctoral candidate visiting the IPA lab from the University of Waterloo, located in Canada. Eric’s research focuses on studying cardiovascular and respiratory adaptations to exercise, inactivity, aging and spaceflight. Specifically, his PhD thesis work is concentrated on understanding the complex interactions between the regulation of carbon dioxide levels in the body and cerebral blood flow in these different situations or environments. Eric’s research is currently supported by a Banting and Best Canada Graduate Scholarship as well as a Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplement from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Outside of research, Eric enjoys playing basketball, helping on his family’s farm, and making maple syrup.
