Greta earned her B.S. in Chemistry with a Biochemistry concentration at East Tennessee State University, conducting her honors thesis research under Dr. Jonathan Peterson studying the protective effects of adipose secreted proteins against Alcoholic Fatty Liver disease and Type II Diabetes. After taking some time to explore other career paths, she became an ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education) Fellow at the Organic Analytical Toxicology branch at the CDC in Atlanta, GA, preparing human serum samples for quantification of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) via Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry. She next moved to Los Angeles, CA to begin a Laboratory Research Technician position in the kidney physiology laboratory of Dr. Janos Peti-Peterdi. She joined the Integrative Physiology of Aging Laboratory in 2025 as an MS student. Outside of the lab, she loves crocheting, lifting weights, video games, and spending time with her partner and her two cats.
