Daniel H. Craighead

PhD

After completing his PhD in Kinesiology at The Pennsylvania State University, Daniel joined the Integrative Physiology of Aging Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2017. Daniel was awarded an American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship to study high-resistance inspiratory muscle strength training for lowering blood pressure. In 2020, Daniel received a National Institutes of Health K01 award to continue his research on inspiratory muscle strength training. Daniel also was promoted to Assistant Research Professor in the University of Colorado Boulder Department of Integrative Physiology in 2020 and named the Integrative Physiology of Aging Laboratory’s Assistant Director of Clinical Research in 2021. Outside of the laboratory, Daniel is a competitive marathon runner and enjoys visiting Colorado’s many craft breweries.
