Melanie joined the Integrative Physiology of Aging Laboratory as a Masters student in 2004 after completing a B.S. in Biopsychology at the University of California Santa Barbara. She has worked on both clinical and preclinical studies, all focused on mechanisms of arterial aging and potential therapeutic targets for maintaining or improving arterial function with age. Currently, as laboratory manager, Melanie’s main duties are budget management, grant submission and reporting, personnel management and identifying random old items found in the ultralow temp freezer.  Outside of work, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family (husband and two sons) camping, skiing, paddle boarding, traveling and gardening.
